California Community Colleges offer accredited programs that lead to an Associates Degree and prepare students for transfer to four-year colleges and universities. School-to-work programs are also offered to meet the current needs of business and industry.

Northern California

Sacramento, the California state capitol, is centrally located and within easy driving distance to San Francisco, the Napa Valley, Lake Tahoe and Yosemite. As California’s capitol city, Sacramento is center stage for governmental policy for the entire state. Founded in 1849 at the confluence of two of the state’s largest rivers, Sacramento has a rich historical heritage, an abundance of trees and parkland. Sacramento also offers theater, professional ballet, opera, museums, and one of the best small zoos in the country.

Sacramento City College

“Sac City”, as the college is known, is a beautiful campus located in the central part of Sacramento. Areas of study include: Professional Health, Behavioral and Social Sciences; Business; Language and Literature; Physical Education; Science, Mathematics and Engineering; Humanities and Fine Arts.

American River College

Located in northern Sacramento, American River offers a high quality program in the following areas: Behavioral and Social Sciences, Business; English; Fine and Applied Arts; Humanities; Math, Engineering and Design Technology; Physical Education; Science and Allied Health.

Woodland Community College

Located in the small town of Woodland approximately 15 miles west of Sacramento, Woodland Community College is a newly built campus in a small suburban community. Associates degrees programs include: Accounting; Clerical/Secretarial; Business; Cosmetology; Education; English; Environmental Horticulture; Family and Consumer Studies; Fine Arts; History; Human Services; Legal Office Skills; Liberal Arts; Nursing; Physical Education; Political Science; Psychology; Real Estate; Social Sciences; Theatre Arts.
