About Davis
UC Davis is located in northern California, 13 miles west of the state capitol in Sacramento. Centrally located, Davis is within easy driving distance to San Francisco, the Napa Valley, Lake Tahoe and Yosemite.
Davis is a small, friendly “university town” which students describe as safe, relaxed and welcoming to international visitors. Bicycle riding is the most common form of transportation for students, and for many of the professors and staff. Streets are wide with protected bike lanes.
